AISI 0-1 MULTIPURPOSE OIL - HARDENED TOOL STEEL

The cold work tool steels listed under the letter symbol "O" are all low alloy types that must be oil quenched in heat treatment. Sizes over approximately 2 to 2 ? inch (50.8 to 63.5) may exhibit lower hardness in the interior. 0-1 is one of the first of the tool steels grades. It is a multipurpose tool steel which maintains excellent abrasion and wears resistance, toughness and machinability characteristics. It is used extensively in dies and punches for blanking, forming and trimming, as well as in cams, bushings, guides and gauges.
